Bouquet of Sunflowers, 1881

Details     Description

Artist Monet, Oscar-Claude Monet3„4was the most consistent member of the Impressionist group and carried their practices to their most radical conclusion. In his late canvases he dissolved forms completely in coloured mists. Unlike other Impressionists, he never chafed against formlessness or tried to revive architectural elements in his compositions.
In this canvas3„4Monet3„4is primarily interested in rendering the effects of light on form and impregnating the surrounding atmosphere with colour. Yet the individual forms still stand out distinctly from this atmosphere.
